Day 3-Sunday 9th

One of the places we visited on this day included the monastery, Wat Tham Pha Kurng where a major building project was underway. Being the weekend, local people of all ages were using their limited free time to help with the construction. We were very happy to join in as the feeling was both joyful and welcoming.

We were able to spend an afternoon of meditation practice at Phu Wiang National Park where there are still some areas of unspoilt forest. Fossilised remains of dinosaurs have been preserved in a local museum. This also taught us about the local geology.

We had our first opportunity to hear Dhamma talks from local forest monks who follow in the tradition of Luang Pouh Mun. Luangpoh Sudhiro and Ajhan Gavasako translated from Thai to English to explain the teachings to us.
